Schülke & Mayr commissioned ANIMA RES to produce a total of four 3D animations on the antiseptic agent, Octenidine. An emotive trailer attunes the viewer to a visual segment illustrating the mechanism of action. Two further 3D animated films on Octenisept® and Octeniline® products containing Octenidine – a wound irrigation solution and wound gel respectively – demonstrate how they can be used.
Octenidine dihydrochloride, or Octenidine for short, is water-soluble as well as having water-repelling properties. The mode of action, in the form of a 3D animation, shows how this combination of lipophilic and hydrophilic properties makes it possible for the molecule to dock into the lipid bilayer of the bacterial cell envelope and make holes in the membrane. Octenidine has a wide antimicrobial spectrum of action, a 24-hour remanence effect, is suitable for even sensitive patient groups and triggers no systemic side effects or increased resistance.
